Here, he personally pressed the grapes and aged the wine in traditional clay qvevri vessels.

Chavchavadze is a renowned historical figure, remembered as a poet and public figure who transformed a small winery into one of the key symbols of national culture. After his assassination in 1907, wine production here ceased, and the marani fell into decline.
